We tried Malco Automotive's new SiO2 Protectant Spray, this is what we think.

For those that are not too familiar with SiO2 sprays and why you should consider investing in one for your vehicle, allow us to enlighten you. An SiO2 spray is a silica-based product that provides exceptional protection by creating a hydrophobic layer on top of your vehicles clear coat. It repels water and dirt while also leaving an enhanced glossy look. Pair that with a slick-to-the-touch feeling for a win/win! Not only does it look and feel good, but it also makes the next wash much easier thanks to contaminants not being able to get embedded onto the vehicles paint. It also makes drying a breeze, no pun intended. A good SiO2 spray can be used as a standalone protectant or a booster to an actual ceramic coating. With that being said, we had the honor to try out Malco Automotives latest product: Slik. What makes Slik so special is its ability to be used wet or dry. Using it while the vehicle is wet serves as a drying agent on top of a paint protectant and gloss amplifier for ultimate convenience and versatility. Slik also has UV inhibitors to prevent sun damage, and they rate it for up to 60 days of protection.
This all sounds great, but how easy is it really? Easy. We tried it wet and were able to confirm the water reacting with Slik, creating those beautiful beads we long for! Using it dry we were able to make a quick detailer out of it to remove smudges and wiping down the door jambs to really tie together the detail. What we found out while using Slik is the user experience factor. It smells so freaking good! Such a pleasant overall experience. It smells good, it's easy to use and leaves an excellent refreshed finish! Pricewise, it's super competitive. The 16oz retails for $15.97 and for the bulk buyers, the gallon will run you $34.97. In conclusion, Malco really knocked it out of the ballpark with this new formula and awesome labeling! Hats off to them.
